Make It a Day: Flemington

Historic charm, incredible shopping, farm-fresh finds, and one of Hunterdon County's most exciting downtowns—Flemington is the perfect destination for a full day of exploring.

Start Your Morning

Begin with coffee on the front porch at Bread & Culture Artisan Bakery. Pick up a loaf of their incredible artisan bread (you'll thank us later) or one of their delicious breakfast sandwiches before strolling downtown.

Then make one more stop at D'Serve for what might just be the most incredible doughnuts you'll ever have.

Farmers Market Mornings

Saturdays

Visit the Stangl Factory Farmers Market
12 Mine Street, Flemington

A vibrant market filled with local produce, artisan breads, flowers, cheeses, meats, coffee, handmade goods, and some of Hunterdon County's best local makers.

Sundays

Visit the Hunterdon Community Farmers Market
Dvoor Farm
111 Mine Street, Flemington

Fresh produce, local farms, artisan foods, flowers, baked goods, and one of our favorite Sunday morning traditions.

Wander Downtown

One of our favorite parts of Flemington is simply wandering.

Be sure to stop into:

Need an afternoon pick-me-up? Grab a coffee from Alkemy Coffee Co. in the Stangl District before continuing your adventure.

If you have a sweet tooth, take the short drive over to The Fudge Shoppe. Trust us... it's worth every mile. Or stop into Mr. Pops for chocolate and pastries made in-house, espresso and coffee, and nostalgic candies like Razzles, Necco and Citrus Delights.

Discover Flemington's History

Take a self-guided stroll through Flemington's historic district and stop by the Hunterdon County Courthouse, home of the famous Lindbergh Trial. Visiting in the fall? The ghost tours are a fun way to experience another side of Flemington's history.

Explore Beyond Downtown

If time allows...

• Visit the Readington River Buffalo Farm for seasonal family activities.

• Hike the peaceful trails at Morales Nature Preserve.

• Head just a few minutes outside town for a wine tasting at Unionville Vineyards in nearby Ringoes.

End the Day

Choose from local favorites like Matt's Red Rooster Grill (BYOB), Bistro 55, or Kyoto Japanese Restaurant...

...or experience one of Flemington's most anticipated openings.

The beautifully restored The Union Hotel, Flemington, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel is reopening this July after years of anticipation, bringing new energy to the heart of downtown. Whether you're settling in for dinner at Jersey Prime Steakhouse, enjoying handcrafted cocktails at JP's Lounge, or simply stopping in to admire one of Flemington's most iconic landmarks brought back to life, it's sure to become one of the region's premier destinations.
