Myles Cavanaugh is the kind of artist whose work pulses with movement, texture, and soul. Raised in New Jersey and trained at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, he first fell in love with art the way many do — through quiet sketchbooks and unexpected moments of inspiration. A nightscape painting he encountered as a teen in Lambertville struck a chord and planted the seed for a lifelong pursuit.
His creative journey took him far beyond the classroom — across Spain and Europe, where long painting trips and immersive travel shaped his instinct-driven, emotional style. Back home, his first solo show in Lambertville sold out completely, setting the stage for a career built on connection, color, and craft.
Today, Myles splits his time between his Stockton studio and large-scale murals that have become signature pieces in the region. He’s drawn to the physicality of mural work — the scale, the collaboration, and the way it transforms a space. Every piece starts with movement and feeling, and he leans into the challenge of creating something original that still reflects the spirit of a place.
Grounded by the ever-changing rhythm of the Delaware River just outside his door, Myles continues to paint, explore, and stay connected to the power of work made by hand — real, imperfect, and deeply human.
You can experience Myles’ larger-than-life creations out in the wild — from the vibrant walls of The Federal Twist Vineyard in Stockton, to the serene backdrop at Zanya Spa Salon in Lambertville, and the bold, energetic mural at Sourland Cycles in Hopewell.
